Introduction to Stand-Up Comedy

How do comedians do what they do? What goes into creating a great bit? In this course, participants will learn the basics of creating stand-up comedy sets to tell their stories. The class will focus on the key mechanics of stand-up comedy coined and developed by Dr. Joseph Richards – body, timing, framing, audience, and liveness. During the class, participants will brainstorm ideas, perform on stage, and find their comedic voice from a place of honesty and authenticity. Instructed by Dr. Joseph Richards. Four-class sessions
